Nonna's Sugo - Authentic Easy Italian Pasta Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp Obìa Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Yellow Onion
  • 25oz Can Tomato Sauce (Passata)
  • 1 Bouillon Cube (Substitute 1 Cup Broth + Salt to taste)
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • Tbsp of Fresh Parsley
  • 3-5 Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Parmigiano Reggiano to Taste

Directions

Step 1

Finely dice onion. Heat EVOO over medium heat, add onion, and sauté until transluscent.

Step 2

Lower the heat and add the Tomato Sauce and bouillon cube/broth. Stir well and let simmer partially covered for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Add water if needed. Add crushed garlic clove and parsley. Let simmer again partially covered for 10 minutes. (perfect time to cook pasta)

Step 4

Stir in fresh basil. Add to your cooked pasta, mix well and top with parmigiano reggiano.
